Hey, help us out here!
If you're on MySpace, why not add LIMCON as a friend there as well? That way, we'll have more time to recruit more editors and agents and fascinating authors for this year's 'con. After all, what are friends for?
We're still working on the definitive schedule--and probably will be up 'til the last minute. That said, if you time your flights to arrive early Friday afternoon (if you're not taking advantage of the Master classes), you'll still have time to get into a Friday afternoon workshop or two, rest up, network, and enjoy the evening's festivities. The LIMCON hotel is very close to the airport, so it's a very, very quick trip. I'd recommend a Sunday mid-afternoon departure, and depending on destination you should get home in time for that evenings' bowl game.
I'm in the process of registering for Love is Murder. I'll be a first-timer and am looking forward to it.
What I'm wondering is what day should I fly in? I don't plan on participating in any of the classes ahead of time. And what happens on Sunday? Should I wait until Monday to fly out?
I just learned a valuable lesson... never register for a conference in a thunderstorm.
The power went off half way through my registration for LIM ... so I probably ended up registering several times... as a writer, a reader, a 65 year old and everything else.
And I'll be getting both the chicken and beef and probably volunteered to moderate, clean up afterwards and help steer Joe Konrath and Rob Walker away from the bar late in the evening, or early morning.
Hopefully it all worked. My PayPal payment went through...just once, I think, er, hope.
Hi all! Thanks for linking this on the conference site. What a great way to get acquainted with other lovers of mystery. I'll be there with a smile and hopefully something to pitch. There's no warmer place in Chicago in February than the Wyndham :o)
I'd love to make a LIM conference sometime. I have some friends in Chicago and look forward to seeing them again. Maybe this Feb. would be just the right time. Thanks for the invitation.
Hey guys, nice to meet you. What an excellent list of commitments. I've always thought Love Is Murder was for romantic suspense writers. Am I wrong? If so, since I have 2 books coming out next month, and since I'm a native Chicagoan, I just might make my one conference trip next year to Chicago. Although set in Los Angeles, my first book sold well in Illinois and neighboring states, probably because it was lucky enough to garner a super review in the Chicago Trib. At any rate, best of luck with your organization.

I'm in.
(heard the wonderful rumor about a HUMOR panel!! ... and maybe that you want a certain balding bow-legged dude on it.)
