Julie, Sorry I've been missing SinC Mavens' meetings. I've been enjoying your website and trying to bring my own up to date. How's the next book coming? That's my big question -- can you keep up with websites and still find time to write?

Look for my interview up at www.speakwithoutinterruption.com at the Writers Corner or search by my name there by going to the bottom of the page. It is an interview with Jean Henry Mead conducting and I think you'd enjoy it.

Yes, that was me putting up a list on MWA. I'm pretty busy. Also no offense. I know I need to drop a few pounds.

Julie, thanks for adding me as a friend. For whatever reason, I seem to be unable to add friends; that thingamabob won't open for me. Is it my mac? dunno. At any rate, again thanks for adding me, and I hope to add you soon as I figure out what is going wrong here.

Hi Julie,

I just finished reading the sample chapter of "Mood Swing". It was quite interesting. Now I'm going to have to buy the book to find out what's happening! I became interested in it right away.
I like your writing style.
Talk to a later,
Lee

Good Morning Julie,

Thanks for the quick response. I just left you a nice long message but being the wizard I am, I left it on my page and not yours...............dahhhhhhhhhhh.

You and the first person I have come across, beside myself, that has published with VBW. I too am quite pleased with them. I spent several months researching online about publishers before I chose VBW. There were a thousand question, now I only have 950 or so. Being a first time author, I wanted to get the best results I could. Traditional publishers normally won't give a first time author a look and then you have to have a professional editor and then it's a problem because so many traditional publishers insist you have an agent or they won't consider you and so on and so on. What's a newby to do? (haha).

I agree the POD situation has it's problems and probably not the ideal situation. It's too bad there isn't a traditional publisher that specializes in new, first time authors. I think that for what VBW charges and what you get for your money, it's very good. Now my main goal is finding different ways to promote and expose my book to readers. So far, it's only being carried on line, but I have made a deal with Barnes and Noble here in Virginia Beach to physically carry my book. One or two to start with, to see if it sells and then more after that. So, I hope it sells.

Do you have any pictures of your dogs? I'd love to see them if you do. Sasha was six months old when I got her. The people who had her had neglected her terribly and were going to abandon her somewhere. She was a wee bad of bones and I couln't let that happen, so I took her in. I already had two quite elderly toy poodles and I had some concerns, but they all got along fine. Now Sasha is quite healthy, 95 pounds and an excellent watch dog and protector as well as a great family dog. Somehow I think she knows what I did for her.

I am definately going to check out the first chapter of your book. It looks very interesting. Would you consider reading the manuscript version of my book and giving me your opinion on it? It's only 152 pages or so. There are a few bo bo's in the manuscript, but were fixed prior to publication.

I also would like to ask you if it would be OK with you if I added you to "my friends" list on Crime Space?

Talk to you soon,
Lee

Hi Julie!

Thanks for inviting me to be a friend on Crimespace. I've been here for less than a week, and I'm still finding my way around.

The chat wall is what we're talking on right now. Actually, it's labelled Chatterwall. And don't worry, we're all still finding our way. Including me.

Thanks for coming on board, the place is on fire! In a good way. :)

Hi Daniel,
I'm delighted to be here. Glad to comply with your guidelines, but I don't know what a "chat wall" is. This type of site is a brand new world to me - but a very exciting one. You've done a great job creating it!

Cordially,
Julie Lomoe

Welcome aboard, Julie. Please keep any bookselling activities confined to your personal blog in the future, not on the chat walls.

Cheers,
Daniel
