Victor,
I stumbled onto one of your Worst Interviews the other day, and wound up following the links until I think I've read them all. Laugh out loud funny, and informative, too. I'm sorry to see you don't do them anymore; any thoughts of starting them up again, maybe for posting on the Blogocalypse?
I attended your panel at last year's Bouchercon and asked which book you'd recommend to someone unfamiliar with your work. You suggested GUN MONKEYS, which I added to my Wish List and my daughter got me for Christmas. (IS she a cool kid, or what?) I finally got a chance toread it last week.
Great book. Mickey Spillane with a sense of humor. I'll be back for more.
reading SHOTGUN OPERA ...wow! slick read......so far, so very good...don't know which was published first, but THE WINTER OF FRANKIE MACHINE is similar but different....
when you want to write a story but don't want to research various aspects of a department or agency...is it wrong to make up things and state them authoritatively?
Exapmle: I have an idea about a story but don't really want to figure out how an organiozed crime task force really works.....mainly because it doesn't matter..but am sure there will be references back to the task force's work...
Hi Victor,
I read Pistol Poets on a plane and enjoyed it so much,
my husband read it when I was done (and he doesn't read.) Now Gun Monkeys is in my TBR pile.
It is fun to sit around and make stuff up, isn't it?
Hi, Victor. I read 'Gun Monkeys, and 'Pistol Poets' back to back. I feel a kinship with anyone who sees the hilarity in violent crime, murder, and the relevance of Monopoly to the first two.
Don't know if I've ever complimented your Brock Samson photo, but NIIIIICE.
I'm friends with one of the artists on the show, and he told me that the delays have been so severe on the scripts - now the writer's strike - a third season was becoming unlikely.
Thanks! Hope the swamp-life treats you good. Had to leave a message because I saw your books lying around in the office of another one of our editors. Wanted them, but couldn't just take them. Now I'll be a liar and tell her I've spoken to you in debth about ... things, and ask if I can read over christmas.
Thanks for chattering on my chatter wall, Victor. Thought I'd return the favour. So... what can I tell you? I went out today and bought stuff. DVDs, CDs and books. And shoes. It's a gender thing, shoes. Y'alright?
Just done my bio for Out of the Gutter - reminded me how much I enjoyed reading Final Tally, so I thought I'd stop by and say so. That was what made me pick up Gun Monkeys. Can't be bad!
Sigh. Real cowboys don't drink PBR because they're not an official "pro rodeo" sponsor, like Coors and Bud. So if PBR ain't good enough for them, it sure as shootin' isn't good enough for the bulls.

I choked him until he told me it wasn't so.
And when is the next book coming out?
