Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”
Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."
Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"
Book Synopsis:
The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.
Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.
The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.
Hi, Kait,
You still with us here?
When you have time, please have a free read of my P.I. mystery novel, FOUL SHOT, here on my page. It's set at the beach of North Carolina and involves the killing of a famous women's pro athlete.
Hi! one of your photos--of a small house looks so much like a building in my photos--which is the old farmhouse that might have inspired Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights. It's in a place called Top Withins in West YOrkshire. there's a great internet site about it. thought you'd like to know as you write romantic stuff.
I am scouting on behalf of a major publisher for someone to write a basic book on Astronomy. Please let me know if you have interest in discussing further or if you know anyone who does.
Kathleen,
AMEN! I just want to write. Wish I could afford a publicist. Wish I could afford an agent. WISH an agent would take an interest. It seems like you assuredly have be on the best-seller list before one will take a chance on you.
Kathleen,
Need a new patient? I'm gong bonkers trying to promote my two published novels. Trying to sell "yourself" is a never-ending job. Thanks for being my Crimespace friend.
With you on the price of flights! I'd love to visit the US - although when I finally do (because I will), it will likely mean medicating Noel a la BA Baracus! ;-)
Hi Kathleen - I'm on the north east coast up at the top end of England (Durham and Northumberland-ish). Two minutes from the sea, so that's good, and also 3 -3 1/2 hrs from either Edinburgh or Glasgow - result! I actually worked in Embro for a wee while when I was a youngster (19) and if I hadn't just met Noel, my husband, I think I'd have stayed.
I always find it odd that for such a small island, we're so parochial. Did that strike you when you were in Edinburgh? Jools
That's funny - Today I told a friend if I win the lottery, I'm going to buy a pub in Ireland and live upstairs. How wonderful that you got to study in Edinburgh. It's a beautiful place. The pub you visited here must have been Dan McGuinness. They have another one in Memphis, near Beale Street if I remember right.
Haha! You're brave! Those are some pretty serious breaches, football-wise. :) I meant to ask you about 'seanachi.' We used to have an Irish pub here called Seanachie.
Hey, Kathleen - I've never been to Starkville. I hear it's a great place to live. I went to Oxford for the first time a few months ago, went to Square Books, of course. :) I live in Nashville now, but I'm from N. Alabama. That's such a beautiful photo on your website. Did you take it?

I write murder mysteries and have one supernatural manuscript completed. I took some time away from writing due to a personal situation, but now have the time to get back in the mode. I might even self-publish my books when I finish my websites.

Thank you for your comment!
Yes, I find myself extremely cranky on the days I can't write!
Many, many congratulations on completing your novel and much success with it.
I keep a list of goals taped to the wall above my desk and recently used a thick black marker to X through the whole 2007 list (including "be a good wife and mother") and scrawled FINISH BOOK DRAFT!!! So I will be very happy when I get to where you are.
Hi Kathleen, thanks for dropping by my place and telling me the name of your "napdog." Buddy has been pretty busy lately, as he has been getting acquainted with a new resident on our little hobby farm: a Boer doe (that's a nanny goat) named Hazel. She is not at all sure about him and his intentions!
It's nice to see a seanachi here. Me, I'm a beirdd.

Huh? Has crimespace gone game zone on us? At least they aren't merit badges.
