have book, must find time

The book has a marker at the beginning, but other things (life) have interferred with getting to read. It's been suggested to me to give it a decent chunk of time, and that won't happen for another two weeks. This reading delay is not sitting well with my 'habit'.

last read and next (after taxes)

I read Reed Coleman's Soul Patch, and really liked his spare, gritty prose. Now I'll need to move the other two of his books I have up in my TBR stack. I have Laura Lippman's What the Dead Know, but I'm not allowing myself to start it until I get my taxes done. I guess that'll make it sometime late next Tuesday evening.

memes, the answer questions about yourself kind...

When the lists of questions about likes and dislikes started showing up in my e-mail inboxes several years ago, I was instantly hooked. I seem to be collecting a lot of female acquaintances by initial these days: P.J., B.J. and now B.G. We call my friend B.J. Beej, which I'm guessing is pronounced about the same!

Guess what? Just won a book on reviewedbyliz. July must be my month. I picked Hot Rocks by Lev Raphael. Now I'm off with a friend to the Olive Garden. Went to Dog Eared Bookstore this morning and only picked up one book I already had - Just One Look by Harlan Coben.

So what's going on in your world? I'm recovering from my house being painted and my sister in intensive care both at the same time - but I got a lot of books read: two by Sinclair Browning, Soul Patch by Reed Farrel Coleman, Who Gets the Apartment by Steven Rigolosi - all good.

Thanks for the invite. When I see your posts on DorothyL or various blogs, I get confused because our parakeet is nicknamed Beej (short for BJ)
