Goodbye 2008

I have to admit, I'll be glad to say goodbye to 2008. It wasn't exactly the best year for me and mine. But before I "mentally" move ahead to 2009, there are some blessings I need to recall for this year. Kind of a reverse New Year's resolution. So, here are my top 10 blessings I'm thankful for in 2008, in random order:

1. My family is together and healthy.

2. My friends who love me despite my oddities. (Or maybe they love me because of them-lol)

3. My eldest is sharing her faith,… Continue

Another Review of Bayou Justice....

Robin Caroll has written a suspense-filled thriller with a big splash of romance thrown in. CoCo is not an everyday heroine, yet the author shows the grace that CoCo has learned since becoming a Christian, especially in dealing with those difficult questions about why God lets bad things happen. The pages don’t stop turning as CoCo and Luc reconcile their relationship and work on solving the murder. The secondary characters are marvelous, from Grandmere to Tara, CoCo’s sister; Luc’s…

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

I wish I'd known about your press release. I don't take the paper--just buy it on Sunday. I'll check with a writer friend here to see if she saw anything and if she did, I'll try to get a copy for you. They should have used it since you're a "local" girl. :)

One week from today, and I leave for the ACFW conference. In the meantime, I have to get my house ready, my family's needs organized so when I'm gone, everything will run smoothly, and I'm on a deadline as well. But you know what, it's okay. Because I'm excited about everything. Can't wait! :D

So, how're YOU doing? Are you ready for conference????

Well, a writer from the deep south....I love it. I'm from new Orleans I don't usually comment on members pictures, but you look like Anne Rice when she was young.
My book, The Beatitudes, is a paranormal thriller set in New Orleans. It will be out in the fall and I am donating all royalties directly to the New Orleans Public Library Foundation. Libraries support the infrastructure of a great city, so I have started The Beatitudes Network to promote awareness of the importance of public libraries in NOLA.
The blogsite www.beatitudesinneworleans.blogspot.com describes the Network, has excerpts from The Beatitudes, recipes, and more. Merci mille fois. Lyn Lejeune.
Writers, please pass the word…..it’s for a good cause….don’t let the libraries of New Orleans or the US go the way of The Great Library of Alexandria. P.S. just posted an excerpt on my page here on crimespace.

I'm certain I should know about the ACFW conference, but I'm probably getting senile. What/where is it? Why are you fighting the prep? (Not that I love the effort of planning/paying for a conference trip.) Be sure to keep any and all paperwork. IRS is investigating my participation in cons in 2005. Ouch!
