Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

Hi Dave,

Nice to meet you. Wow - you've had an interesting career! I may have to pick your brain some time...

Your experience, and it is so interesting, must give you lots of information for your novel. Good luck with it. When you are ready to find an agent look at agentquery.com. It's free!
My book, The Beatitudes, is a paranormal thriller set in New Orleans. It will be out in the fall and I am donating all royalties directly to the New Orleans Public Library Foundation. Libraries support the infrastructure of a great city, so I have started The Beatitudes Network to promote awareness of the importance of public libraries in NOLA.
The blogsite www.beatitudesinneworleans.blogspot.com describes the Network, has excerpts from The Beatitudes, recipes, and more. Merci mille fois. Lyn Lejeune.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss of both sons. No parent should have to endure anything as horrible as that.

As far as Texas being hot and dry - we've had nothing but rain for two months and everything is green, green, green. And, the temp has been in the mid-eighties. I've never seen a summer like this one. And also, the people of Texas day-in and day-out are so friendly to anyone that passes through.

Hi Dave, thanks for the comments.... at times I don't feel very strong when I think about my sons who are no longer with me....but the system isn't fair and never has been.

My youngest son and I used to speak at the schools to the kids trying to stop them from going down a wrong path in life and to watch those they are friends with. Jeff never did anything wrong in his life and yet he was killed....and trevor did so much good talking to the teens and he was killed two years ago.

I haven't spoken since then as it's still too hard but I'm hoping to get back to it sometime. My latest book, A Mothers Torment tells of it all, with trial testimony from both trials to show how testimony was changed....

I was near Waco the year I was on the run, and the people were so nice in Texas...but the weather was too hot for me and no green grass or mountains....
anyway, thanks for the comment ...Shirley
