I always thought this would fit squarely as an epitaph for Welles' Touch of Evil...right where Quinlan redeems himself somewhat when he realizes he's no good.

that was wonderful. *sniff* and i agree about reznor's version. i always loved it, but the lyrics are so powerful and emotional by themselves. so much better to contrast and understate. johnny cash singing it was genius.

After I heard this version for the first time, I found I couldn't really go back to Trent Reznor's original. It just seemed childish in comparison.
