The VEILS, HALOS, AND SHACKLES anthology has accepted my "In a Shard of the Bedroom Mirror" for publication. It's a poem about the aftermath of domestic violence, likely the most common crime in this country and the world. Most of you don't think of me as a poet, but sometimes poetry can say what you need to say best. In the case of "In a Shard..." my hope was to capture that moment, immediately after the crime, when insane excuses start flying around, revealing dysfunction on both sides of the relationship.

I am proudly no longer a victim of DM but have to say that maybe, unless you too have experienced it, you don't understand what I'm talking about. I hope this poem makes it real--so you can comprehend it.

And if you do know the moment, I hope this anthology will help you find the strength to get help. I'll follow up with the publication details.
