Really, the madness behind some of the decision-making by publishers just leave's you scratching your head and mumbling to yourself.
I like that web site.

Hefty print runs, large promotional plans, big marketing incentives all spell huge orders from bookstores and libraries. They also spell reviews in the big papers and get the attention of book review sites. It signals: " very important book!" to the whole world. The downside is that if the book tanks the publisher will not touch another. And neither will any other publishers.
