Thanks, Teel! I haven't read those -- I'll definitely check them out.

Hi Charles,
I just picked up one of my favorite series to re-read and it occurred to me they have to be reprinted and Hardcase is the place; the books are the Burns Bannion books written by Earl Norman. All titled "Kill me in'- shimashi. or Atami etc. I have 3 but I know there were at least 9 or 10. Great hardboiled stuff set in reconstruction Japan. Berkley Diamond did some of them...

Thanks! I stole it from an old shirt ad (Hathaway, I think), but I figure if I age a few more years (and lose an eye) I'll grow into it...

Hey Charles, just finished listening to your In For Questioning interview. Very nicely handled, I enjoyed it.

Thanks, Simon -- I appreciate the kind words (even if they make me blush a bit). Hope you keep enjoying 'em...

Hi Charles, I'll try not to sound gushing, but I absolutely love Hard Case crime. I love the books, I love the art (any new art by Robert McGinnis is always a thing to treasure). Hell, I love the whole damn thing. Thank you for it.
Your Little Girl Lost and Songs of Innocence were the first two I read, and they are fantatstic. Really looking forward to Fifty To One.
Long may Hard Case reign!
Best Wishes, Simon

Good morning, Charles

I second Paul's comment. I read Songs of Innocence a few months ago and I was floored. I was especially impressed with how the "noirishness" felt real and current and never anachronistic. I tend to read, enjoy and move on, but this book stayed with me.

Read Songs of Innocence. One of the best books I read this year.

Truly well done.

Absolutely! They're called Pershing Square, and they are fine indeed. (Their waffles are good -- but if you want a real treat, try the pancakes...)

Hey Charles, next time I'm in NY, let's meet for waffles at that place beneath Park Ave. across from Grand Central! Several years back you told me they were the best, and I haven't been able to get it out of my mind (or stomach).
