Seems we have much in common. Navy vet (Vietnam era), newspaper reporter, 17 years with the Sheriff's Dept. (11 working with an undercover narcotics team). Two books published and several anthologies.
Hi, Mark. Yes, I am an aspiring fiction writer: http://www.marymcfarlandauthor.com, a technical writer by profession. Just finished my second novel and am in the query process with it (mystery) and my first (romantic suspense). I'm launching a content-rich blog http://www.buzzardbone.blogspot.com and would love to get to know more about you. I'm working to connect writers with ex-law enforcement persons like yourself to provide the kind of technical edits many manuscripts need.
Mark, really enjoyed the first part of your blog. I'm sure all of that life xperience has informed your writing, too. I used to work as a Probation Officer and spent some time in prisons, it certainly influenced how I approach my writing.
Hi Mark, thanks for the friendship, and glad you're liking the Kill Zone! We love getting your comments over there. Cheers, Katryn

Thanks, John. I like Walnut Creek, but I'd take Monterey any day. With law enforcement, journalism and Vietnam in your background, I'm guessing you have some material for a few books. Best, Reece

Are you attending Left Coast Crime, Sacramento?
Thanks for your friends request, Mark. You have an amazing background for a crime writer. It will certainly help get your work noticed.
Glad to meet you, Mark!
