Interested in crime poetry but have no 'crime' poetry books published. Current President of the Canadian Poetry Association. Owner of a small press as well.
It all started when I was 10 and my father was called to a hanging at our local jail. I was told to sit on the stairs and not to move but I did had to see what was happening. I looked at the warden and peered to the far right and saw a young Micmac boy dangling by a 'belt'. My father heard me scuffle and said nothing. In the car I asked "Why wasn't the Warden wearing a belt?"...that was when it all started this interest in crime. A true story.
I too was hooked by Nancy Drew. They were my Mom's books and I found them at my grandmothers house in the attic when I was just barely able to read. I too graduated to the Hardy boys but did not finish the series because I discovered Mike Hammer. My Mom did not approve so I had to hide ol' Mike in the closet and read him with a night light. After that I deteriorated quickly and became the hopeless wretch that I am now. It's all Carolyn Keen's fault.
