- Author of LAST LIGHT and A THOUSAND SUNS. I'm beavering away on the next, but it can be quite a lonely business, tucked away in my study. So it's nice to be able to chew the cud with people with a passion for books.

In my younger years I was a big fan of scifi by the likes of Philip Jose Farmer, Greg Bear and James Herbert. It's been a long time since I've read much in the way of scifi, but you know what?...I'm drifting back to it again. I'm getting a little tired of the thriller/crime market.
- Movies And TV Shows I Like:
- Not much of a fan of TV these days. I used to enjoy it a lot, back before we were inundated with dozens and dozens of channels of digital crud. If I watch anything at all these days, it's Newsnight, Questiontime and hmmm...that's it.
Movies, ah...different story. Love movies. If you put a gun to my head and asked me to pick three favourites I'd say: Sophie's Choice, 2001, Children of Men.
But sheeesh...you'd probably get an entirely different answer if you put a gun to my head tomorrow

In reserching the " Family Tree ", the name Jenney, is found in the village of Scrooby in Nottinghamshire County. If you Google: John Jenney, the history given is amazing. In the year 1066 A.D., we fought with William at the Battle of Hastings. There may be a connection back to Mali Africa cir. 250 B.C. according to the book Africa's Glorious Legacy, library ref. ISBNO - 8094 - 9026 - 9, chapter 3 page 81. If you can connect the dots from 1066 A.D. to 250 B.C., I would appreciate hearing about what you find.

I am also a professional writer. When that photo was taken I had already written one novel that had to be redone, and had made a few direct sales of short fiction stories and had a few other things published for free, and the odd small time amateur or semi-pro award...Now I have a second novel, and by comparison a large amount of experience writing as freelancer. My earnings are still meagre...My professional writing life is still very much a tender young shoot that needs great protection...I have two web sites but haven't managed to get to the next level of marketing my work even without the help of a great big publisher who will financially support me
at least as well as some 'exhusbandage'.

Lucky for me, I found a copy of Last Light in my favourite secondhand bookshop in Notting Hill on Saturday. Try to ignore the arse-kissing-sounding statement here but, it looks pretty good and has been bumped up to the top of the TBR pile!!!

Aaarghhh....the dreaded rewrites! I'm nearly done with it....but I have to concede, despite being a pain in the ass, it makes for a much better book.
