About Me:
I'm a former bartender/modern dancer/dog walker/model/personal trainer/Russian supper club performer turned writer. I have a contract with MIRA Books for my Kelly Jones series, featuring an FBI Special Agent that hunts serial killers. In my spare time I run errands and indulge a love/hate relationship with Hollywood blockbusters.

Books And Authors I Like:
John Sanford's prey series, anything by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child (alone or together), James Rollins, Janet Evanovich, Jason Starr, Hailey Lind, Tim Maleeny, Thomas Harris, Raymond Chandler, really the list goes on and on...
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
Right now I'm loving Reaper, also Lost, Dexter, The Shield, Heroes, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Weeds, and last but most definitely not least: The Wire. Best show on TV, hands down. I also miss Deadwood...
I thought Brick was brilliant, and recently enjoyed the Bourne Ultimatum and the Departed.

Litcrawl 2007: Murder, Mayhem, and F-Bombs

Note: I initially wrote this for my local MWA newsletter, and it seemed to go over well so I'm re-posting it here..my alternate title is "Cornelia Read's Pottymouth." Read on to discover why...

I was running late as usual, although in my defense this wasn’t entirely my fault. My husband was out of town, and the babysitter was held up a half-hour in traffic. Then the cab never arrived, so I drove to the Mission, praying to the gods of street parking after three garages tu…

Lol. Jobs? Oh, boy. Well, I've been a bass player, bartender, Corrections Officer, piano player, pulp wood hauler, Online Editor, guitar player, Editor of Theses and Dissertations, private investigator, English tutor, shoveled sand in a furnace, AT&T Operator, made yarn in a mill, tank mechanic, and other odious manual labors too numerous and spiteful to include. You get the picture.

Okay, I have to ask...Russian Supper Club performer? AndI thought my resume was interesting. I remember one particularly fated night, it was pouring rain, me and one other guy were unloading relief helicopters as they came in to New Orleans, I was telling him all the jobs I'd ever done, and out of the blue, he says, "Lemme guess, you're a writer." I just had to smile. Best wishes, Down in Dixie, Tim

Hello Michelle,

I guess it can turn into overload. I write fiction as well. They are usually the short stories that I submit to try keep the muse flowing and improve my writing. I enjoy the fiction as well as a good scare but the short stories challenges my creativity so it works for me. Do you write in other genres as well?

Hello Michelle. Just sending a note of greetings to a fellow writer. I think I spend as much time reading about serial killers and studying them as I do writing them. take care.

Michelle: You bet I'll be there. I wouldn't miss it. I've been at every one since I started being published (Chicago, 2005) and always had a great time. Hey, I even went to Alaska.

Michelle: Nice seeing you at tfest. I've read BONEYARD and really liked it. The bear with the bone was a great opening touch.

Hope to see you at Bouchercon.
