About Me:
I’m Gemma Halliday and I write the High Heels Mysteries about L.A. shoe designer turned amateur sleuth, Maddie Springer and her LAPD Detective love interest, Jack Ramirez. My first book, SPYING IN HIGH HEELS, came out in 2006 and I've been completely thrilled with the attention it's gotten. This year it won a National Reader's Choice award, as well as being nominated for two RITA awards. And, as if that weren't enough to make a girl happy, it's also currently in development with the USA Network for a TV series. Fun stuff!
My second book, KILLER IN HIGH HEELS, came out in February 2007, and the third in the series, UNDERCOVER IN HIGH HEELS, will hit shelves September 2007.

book #3 of the High Heels Mysteries

Secret affairs, hunky gardeners, and housewives desperate enough to bare it all… welcome to Magnolia Lane, TV's hottest new prime time show. A place where L.A. shoe designer Maddie Springer should be in fashion heaven. That is until the body of a rising young starlet is found dead on the show's set. Now it's up to Maddie to sift through a leading lady with a secret, an actor on the verge of a nervous breakdown, a sexy cyber scandal, and one tabloid reporter who'll stop at nothing to get the story of the century. Not to mention Maddie's hot-cold relationship with the case's familiar lead detective, Jack Ramirez.
In a world where secrets, lies, and deception can earn you an Oscar, Maddie plays the role of a lifetime to catch Hollywood's hottest killer. But if she doesn't watch her step, Maddie's fifteen minutes of fame just may be her last.

Hi, Gemma. Are things moving again on the TV show now that the writers strike is over?

Like your series theme. Who else is building fame around high heels?

Well, OK, Imedla Marcos.

Hi, Jemma. I hope the writers strike isn't gumming things up too badly with your TV show. Good luck.

That just itches for a snide comment (viruses and Jasmine's life etc) but I am sick today and cannot think of anything worthy. Yes, I really did enjoy them. So much so that I am in a bit of a slump today on reading - between you and Hailey Lind I just don't feel like attacking anything but really fun reads! However - I have a new Rankin and must get to that.

Hi Gemma,

Just finished your second and third books - good stuff. I really enjoyed both. The second is too funny on the whole subject matter, and also something that hits close to home. The third was just a really a good read. Just as well that I could not relate to too much in it though. Not sure I want to understand Jasmine's life.

It's a deal. Either way I will say I loved them. But I am pretty sure I will enjoy them so doubt I will have to risk fire and brimstone to spare your feelings.

You sound just like me on that. If you weren't so blonde I might think you were a cousin or something. My family is all redheads or dark brown --- well except for my youngest son who is about the same shade you are .... hum....

Gemma,
Thank the Internet Gods for a place where you can be a free thinker who kills people (who need killing) for free, and get off Scot Free, with no penalty for early withdrawal!
