Men, Women and Outlines

When I first started writing Body Trace, the first book in the Madison Cross series, I was somewhat intimidated at the idea of writing from the point of view of a female protagonist. I had written parts of novels from the points of view of female

Today's the day! Freezer Burn is in stores now!

Freezer Burn, the third book in my Philadelphia-based series of forensic crime thrillers, is on sale now. Freezer Burn follows the career of rookie forensic technican Madison Cross, now on the job for nine months and trading in one set of problems for another as she takes on her toughest case yet. Or as it says on the cover: The Crime Scene Unit knows that even the most cold-blooded killers leave clues. A bag full of body parts. A man thrown from a car. A shriveled corpse. A gangster, tort… Continue

Finding a Literary Agent

We all know that in order to get published these days, agents are pretty necessary. Occasionally, you hear of people getting published without them, but you hear of people winning the lottery, too.

While a publisher probably won't give

Okay, I'm blogging!

I'm new to crimespace and one thing I've noticed is that whenever I visit my crimespace page, it tells me "You haven't written your first blog entry!"

It kind of makes me feel like I'm being yelled at, and I get enough of that, well, just about everywhere. So, here I am, writing the blog to end all blog... reminders. Or at least one of them. I wonder what my Crimespace page will get on my case about next time.

Hey, Joe Dublin, I'd like to get one of your novels from my library. Which one are you most proud of?

Hi,

thanks for the invite. I was interested in your blogging comment. I gave the blog thing a go but found I was getting too hung up about what I was going to write - about what I was writing. It started to encroach on my writing day... then I considered including a character in my novel who was blogging obsessively and I considered drawing from my own blogging attempts... then I noticed my thoughts were starting to form like blog entries. It got too scary so I stopped.

Good luck with the blogging but don't feel bad if you don't bother in the end. Alison x

You're most welcome. I admit I've not been using this site as I should. I need to rectify that!

Jon: Since I seem to be getting a noir-ish reputation as writer Noircon will definitely be on my must-attend list once I finish grad school - in forensics.

Hi Jon
I really enjoy forensic thrillers. I'm trying to talk our local ME into letting me watch an autopsy.
