For those of you doubting my considerable ire at Scarlett Johansson’s plans to release a CD of Tom Waits covers, I give you Piglet McTalentvacuum and, to cleanse the palate, Mr Thomas Alan Waits (alas not a video, but a picture and the song).
Charles Bukowski, John Fante, Charles Willeford, Ken Kesey, Jim Thompson, David Goodis, Horace McCoy, James M. Cain, Harry Crews, James Sallis, Daniel Woodrell, Derek Raymond, James Crumley, Don Winslow, John Cheever, Stona Fitch, Chester Himes, Hunter Thompson, Hubert Selby Jnr, David Bowker, Alan Moore, Garth Ennis, Warren Ellis, Brian Azarello, George Simenon, Donald Westlake, George V. Higgins, Jean-Patrick Manchette, Massimo Carlotto, Guillermo Arriaga, Flannery O'Connor, William Golding, Graham Greene, Edward Bunker, Sara Gran, Laura Lippman, and most of you lot.
Thanks for the good reads(Saturday's Child, The Big Blind). I'll pick up Donkey Punch. I used to drink with a guy just like Mo Jr. A complete asshole. As for Scarlett desecrating the songs of Tom Waits, she should be tied up and ravaged for hours. And I'm just the guy to do it. Cheers.
This is Justin at OOTG, thanks for the shout. I fought to do the art for "We're All Mad Here" after I read through the submissions Matt sent me. I made these paper stencils and sent them on fire. It took several tries to get the right burn. One thing that always bothered me, how are Gas cans labeled in the UK? Petrol?
Hi Ray
"Raw, edgy, vulgar, addictive ... a superb and infectious break from status-quo noir."
What a great review. I've added it to my list of books to read, which has become intimidating. I need two months off to catch up.
Congratulations on your success.
Enjoying the community feel here, and despite your encouragemen to Chib people, I refuse to, mainly because I don't know what it is. Does it have anything to do with how you make Haggis?
I hope you find me not rude and no harm mend but I think it's funny. To be sure that no one is pointing out to you that there are no baseball bats available in Newcastle you checked it out.
It a cricket bat robust enough ? I "faired" all the time that it would break.
And thanks for your reply. I added a sentence to my review which will be on air tomorrow.
Thanks for accepting. Just finished Saturday's Child and wonder a bit why the T-shirt with „Kiss her Goodbye“. Could it be that your cricket bat scene was already written/planned when your were informed by a certain scotsman that he had a similar scene ?
Thanks for accepting the request. Indeed it seems we have very similar tastes in writing. haven't read your books yet, but will. (I even think I saw one of them in the office some of months ago. Didn't pick it up, since I was having dad's leave.) - Anyway, glad to be on your wall!

why should you think that I'm kind.
I read a book, I like a book, I write a review.
(Which leads me to realize that your authors' list on the left doesn't include Ellroy)
Therefore it is a win-win situation.
Sometimes if I don't like a book, I also write a review ... but I prefer it to like a book.
