A duo of serial killers with brains.

A young man with three college degrees and a genius IQ teams up with an established serial killer.

˃˃˃ Can a serial killer also like anyone?

An established serial killer still has family values. He even has a favorite little daughter. But he is also capable of killing them.

˃˃˃ A story that includes love, family, some heavy historical events, a hint of the Supernatural, death and murder, and some good old solid human emotions.

While one of the killers is familiar with using a Ouija board to contact evil spirits, the other associates with some well known killers. The story includes family values, but also murder.

'The Cinderella Murders'

When an elderly man turns up at her police station, D.S. Ruth Carter, does not immediately recognise him. However, when she does, she is immediately transported back in time to 1980 when her best friend Jenny was murdered.

Now though there’s a killer on the loose who calls himself, ‘Prince Charming’, his modus operandi is to leave just one shoe on his victims. The murderer’s style is similar to the person who killed Jenny back in the eighties, but is this the same man?

Whilst the killer plays a ‘Cat and Mouse’ game with the detectives, Ruth’s personal life begins to unravel. What has her partner Pete been up to while she’s been at work? He’s been staying out over night and making excuses for his absences. Can she trust him? Particularly as he went missing the night of one of the murders.

Who is the killer is he a stranger or is he someone that she thought she knew so well?

Do you favor Content lists embedded in eBooks?tag:crimespace.ning.com,2011-07-11:537324:Topic:2993082011-07-11T20:34:18.264ZMark Younghttps://crimespace.ning.com/profile/MarkYoung

One of many differences between fiction print novels and fiction eBooks seems to be the inclusion of a Contents list with digital versions. I imagine this Contents list helps readers to jump back and forth in the novel. I have seen eBook novels with and without these lists, and I've seen them added near the front or the back of the eBook. I have seen eBook novels with and without these lists, and I've seen them added near the front or the back of the eBook. As a reader, I prefer going right into the story with as few interruptions as possible. However, I went with the major of authors and inserted a Contents list at the front of my first eBook novel, Revenge.

Do you think these Contents lists are important? If so, where do you think readers would like to have these lists placed--front or back?
Is Crime Fiction Mainly Written/Read by People Who Don't Experience Crime?tag:crimespace.ning.com,2011-03-18:537324:Topic:2786232011-03-18T12:39:51.898ZBenjamin Sobieckhttps://crimespace.ning.com/profile/BenjaminSobieck

Let me throw out a generalization I've had kicking around my head this week.

If throughout your life you experience crime (say you're from a bad neighborhood), you likely will not be interested in watching shows or reading books about crime.

If throughout your life you do not experience crime (say you're from a good neighborhood), you likely will be interested in watching shows or reading books about crime.

This doesn't follow a logical pattern, since people should write/read what they know. But I'll go out on a limb and say most CrimeSpace members (in general) come from middle-class backgrounds and did not live the lives of the characters in crime fiction.

Whereas if you grew up mountain climbing, you're likely to be interested in writing/reading about mountain climbing. Or if you grew up (like me) doing lots of things outdoors, you'd be interested in writing/reading about the outdoors (which I am, both writing and reading).

What's going on here? I think we all know why people enjoy crime fiction: it safely allows exploration of the darker side of life. But does this fantasizing only apply to those who did not experience much criminal activity throughout their lives?

My thought is yes. If you grow up with crime, you don't need to seek out a medium to safely explore the darker side of life. You already lived it.

What FF sites do you pay attention to, if at all.
