The contest is open to all genres and the excerpts are the first 5 K of the novel. A Publisher's Weekly review based on the entire manuscript should be posted shortly for all the semi-finalists (836 contestants out of an initial field of 5,000). A nice little prize for making it this far. There's about 200 semi-finalists in the mystery/suspense genre.
