Do you work with a critque partner? If so, do you feel it's an advantage or disadvantage? And, has it helped?

I belong to two critique groups, and they have helped me tremendously. Each has different strengths, as to the individual members . I know some writers have had bad experiences with groups that were competitive or cut-throat, but I have been lucky. They've helped me to spot things I might not have seen on my own, and encouraged me when I needed it. Finding the right group is key, but I highly recommend it.
