Here's my contribution toward the recent spate of book-buying efforts: When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Buy Books.

It's a simple display blog where people can list the titles and authors of the books they've bought in the comment trail. When they do, I add the books' covers to a slideshow. When a book gets mentioned more than once, I add it to a list of favorites on the front page.

I'm hoping this blog will help make others more conscious of buying books. Plus, it's fun to see what books people are buying - especially other authors.

Feel free to add a list of your recently purchased books - link to the blog - share it around - whatever you like. Let's show the world that book-buying isn't dead!

As a retiree with a pension, I buy more books than necessary. Reading Time Books, an independent store opened here in Dallas, Oregon, in September. I go often to look at the owner's supply of new and used books. I will be putting a BookCrossing site there soon--I know FREE BOOKS! As a retired English teacher and library clerk I believe that there is room for both the puchased and the free. I sometimes buy multiple copies.
