What was the book that came out within the last few years about a white man who returns to his hometown in the south (to be a police officer I think?) and investigate the death of a girl he dated decades ago, and he re-establishes a relationship with a black man he knew as a boy?  I'm blanking on the title and author.  I was wondering if there was a sequel.

Any leads would be appreciated?

Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter by Tom Franklin

Really?  The title is that?  So it's in Mississippi.

That's a hoot.

Bet the sequel is Humpback, Humpback  or Snee Eckerson, Pee Eckerson.

A bus stops and two Italian men get on. They sit down and engage in an animated conversation. The lady sitting behind them ignores them at first, but her attention is galvanized when she hears one of the men say the following:

"Emma come first. Den I come. Den two asses come together. I come once-a-more. Two asses, they come together again. I come again and pee twice. Then I come one lasta time."

"You foul mouthed swine," retorted the lady indignantly. "In this country we don't talk about our sex lives in public!"

"Hey, coola down lady," said the man. "Who talkin' abouta sexa? I'm just tellin' my frienda how to spella 'Mississippi'."

That's a new one for this old man. Ha.

I like it!

Yes, that's it Kent. Thanks.
