If you're a whiz at creating loglines, you can enter for a chance to win FREE tickets to the Broadway play SEMINAR starring Jeff Goldblum! (And yes, you can win the tickets for someone else!)

Contest details:

“What’s your novel about?” is the question aspiring writers hear over and over again at writers conferences–from prospective agents and editors, and from their fellow authors. Condensing an entire novel to a few pithy sentences is a challenge—some say it’s more akin to torture—but all agree it’s an essential skill.

Now you can “pitch” a book without the angst of knowing the future of your novel might be at stake. Create a title and logline for a fictitious novel, and enter the Backspace|SEMINAR Logline Contest for a chance to win TWO tickets* to SEMINAR! The more inventive and high concept your story idea, the better!

While your contest logline will be fiction, your pitch still needs to be as compelling as the logline for a real book—the kind of “gotta read it” story idea that makes literary agents and editors sit up and go, “Wow!” Why?

Because THREE winners will be chosen based on originality and execution by Michelle Brower, Molly Jaffa, Jeff Kleinman, and Shawna Morey–four of the many excellent literary agents at Folio Literary Management!

To enter, submit your logline for your fictitious novel using the form below. Entries will be posted to this page and to the Backspace Writers Conference Facebook page as they are received.

Each contest winner selected by the Folio literary agent team will receive TWO tickets* to the smash Broadway hit play SEMINAR!

IN ADDITION, the authors of the three Facebook contest entries that receive the most combined ”likes” and comments will each win a signed and personalized copy of literary agent Donald Maass’s two essential how-to guides, WRITING THE BREAKOUT NOVEL and THE FIRE IN FICTION!
