    Hi, Nancy! Welcome!
  • PJ Nunn

Welcome! Love the photo - send me one of those (although I am kind of fond of the hat in the one I have!) and have a good time here. Great place!
  • J. Carson Black

Hi Nancy. I've got your back, too! I second PJ - that's a great photo!
  • Nancy Martin

    Me, I like William's photo.
  • Merrill Young

How lovely to find you here!
    I adore your books!
It's the vintage clothes that cinched the deal for me.
  • J. Carson Black

    We ALL love William's photo!
  • Robert Gregory Browne

Thank you, Ms. Martin. Love the new photo, by the way...
  • Brian Thornton

Hi Nancy- it was so nice to meet you when you were out here in Seattle. Doubly nice to see you here as well!
  • Nancy Martin

How nice to see everyone! (Brian, I love your picture. You look a little more dignified that when I saw you at the pizza restaurant!)
  • Nancy Martin

Nikki, baby, is that Cleopatra Jones??

    Okay, I definitely need a sexy alter-ego!
  • Regina Harvey

What are you talking about Nancy? You are your own sexy alter-ego! And yes, you can slip me the twenty for that at Malice.
  • Deborah Turrell Atkinson

    Hi Nancy,
I've already got one of your books. Can't wait to dive in & enjoy. Malice will be fun--we'll have to figure out some fun angles to that panel. Maybe I should watch American Idol, too. Yikes

Another fan here, with your lastest on the summit of Mt TBR
  • Nancy Martin

I attended my first Malice convention in 1993, before I was writing mysteries. I found the convention so entirely different from romance conferences (which are much more focused on the how-to) that I could hardly make head nor tails of the panels. (For one thing, romance workshops featured one writer teaching for an hour.) I'm still not sure whether Malice panels are supposed to be informative or entertaining. Which is it, do you think? Instead of listening to the speakers (who sometimes seemed to communicate in a language I didn't yet understand) I found myself watching and listening to the readers. Because I intended to write mysteries, that weekend of observation was a smart move. But now I'm moderating a Malice panel. And I haven't a clue how to best achieve the vision of the committee that chose our panel. What think you all??
  • Neil Plakcy

I'm looking forward to our Malice panel, as long as I don't have to sing!
  • Nancy Martin

Can you dance, Neil? I just saw a few minutes of DANCING WITH THE STARS.
  • Leann Sweeney

    Hi Nancy,
Thanks for "chattering" on my page. I will be at Malice in spirit. I am in deadline hell, as I think you are. It's making me crazy ... or crazier. Now where the hell did I put the Prozac?

Nancy, your blog is great and I have to say, your books come highly recommended. My publisher, Karen Syed, swears you are one of her top five authors and she says you are wonderfully nice as well. She refuses to loan them to anyone, says we all have to buy our own copies.
  • Patricia

thanks for adding the update about Elaine
  • Bethany K. Warner

So what's your favorite Buffy episode or season?
  • Nancy Martin

I gotta say up front: I'm a Spike fan. And my favorite Buffy is the musical episode. So I'm a geek. You?
  • Bethany K. Warner

Nancy, I just finished reading "Cross Your Heart and Hope to Die" and had a thought... Spike the dog wouldn't be a namesake for another Spike, now would he?
  • Nancy Martin

    Ya think??

    Gotta love the bad boys.
  • Bethany K. Warner

    Absolutely!
  • Bethany K. Warner

Nancy! I just read "Have Your Cake and Kill Him Too." Fantastic! I loved it.
Even funnier, my crit partner and I were going to go get gourmet cupcakes this month for meeting our writing goals. Cupcakes now has a whole different meaning....
  • Nancy Martin

Bethany, I'm glad you enjoyed the book. Hope you enjoyed the cupcakes even more! How's your own book coming?
  • Bethany K. Warner

It's making progress. I'm hoping August will be a good month for making more headway.
  • Love Is Murder Conference

Will you make it back from LIMCON in time for the Super Bowl? Depends on where "back" is...but there are numerous flights out of O'hare all weekend. Many folks do travel and do make it home in time for the pre-game.
  • Bethany K. Warner

Nancy, you need to write faster... I just finished "Crazy Little Thing Called Death" last night and I want to know what happens next!
