Hi Nancy,
I've already got one of your books. Can't wait to dive in & enjoy. Malice will be fun--we'll have to figure out some fun angles to that panel. Maybe I should watch American Idol, too. Yikes

I attended my first Malice convention in 1993, before I was writing mysteries. I found the convention so entirely different from romance conferences (which are much more focused on the how-to) that I could hardly make head nor tails of the panels. (For one thing, romance workshops featured one writer teaching for an hour.) I'm still not sure whether Malice panels are supposed to be informative or entertaining. Which is it, do you think? Instead of listening to the speakers (who sometimes seemed to communicate in a language I didn't yet understand) I found myself watching and listening to the readers. Because I intended to write mysteries, that weekend of observation was a smart move. But now I'm moderating a Malice panel. And I haven't a clue how to best achieve the vision of the committee that chose our panel. What think you all??
Hi Nancy,
Thanks for "chattering" on my page. I will be at Malice in spirit. I am in deadline hell, as I think you are. It's making me crazy ... or crazier. Now where the hell did I put the Prozac?

Nancy, your blog is great and I have to say, your books come highly recommended. My publisher, Karen Syed, swears you are one of her top five authors and she says you are wonderfully nice as well. She refuses to loan them to anyone, says we all have to buy our own copies.
Nancy, I just finished reading "Cross Your Heart and Hope to Die" and had a thought... Spike the dog wouldn't be a namesake for another Spike, now would he?
Nancy! I just read "Have Your Cake and Kill Him Too." Fantastic! I loved it.
Even funnier, my crit partner and I were going to go get gourmet cupcakes this month for meeting our writing goals. Cupcakes now has a whole different meaning....
Will you make it back from LIMCON in time for the Super Bowl? Depends on where "back" is...but there are numerous flights out of O'hare all weekend. Many folks do travel and do make it home in time for the pre-game.
