. Ruth R. is one of a few writers whose books I can read multiple times.

Absolutely! I've read everything she's written, including marvelous short stories. I recently started re-reading "Brimstone Wedding," but have put it aside to read some other things. Short stories are a good way to start writing, I think. Many fine crime writers have excellent short stories. Good luck to you!

Hi Cathryn, I see from your profile that we like a number of the same authors and films!
As you may know from my posts I'm a "huge" Ruth Rendell fan. I also like Highsmith--talk about getting "inside" the mind of a psychopath. And I think Fargo is perhaps the best suspense film since anything Hitchcock!
I look forward to checking out your books.

Remember Goofus and Gallant?
Read all about Goofus's drift to the dark side in 'Always the bad example.'

No wood chipper scene, I promise.

Thanks for the friendship.
You look far too sweet to appreciate the twisted elegance of Fargo. I picture you averting your eyes during the woodshed scene.
