I wanted her to, but the state wouldn't charge her for some reason. I'm thinking it's either because she had two little kids, 3 and 1, or the whole cultural thing- she was just being submissive to him.

Hope the drunk's wife went to jail for aiding and abetting.

I was in the car with my kids, then 9 and 6. They had minor injuries. It took the firemen 45 minutes to get me out with the jaws of life. I had 2 broken legs, broke both the bones in one ankle, shattered my elbow, fractured some lower lumbar vertebrae. I didn't think I was hurt that bad, so I tried to get out of the car. Luckily, the door was too crushed for me to do it or I probably would have hurt myself worse. I was immobile for about six months, and have been back on my feet since the end of December on a cane. I have a rod in my thigh and plates in my ankle and screws in my elbow, but should be pretty close back to normal with time and more physical therapy. If the steering wheel hadn't flown off when the airbag deployed I'd probably be dead, or at least suffered internal and head injuries. A year before this the car had been stolen and wrecked, and the airbags deployed. We think the dealership didn't check the steering wheel and that's why it broke off so easily, which was a blessing to me. At the time we were so mad the car had been stolen, but it probably saved my life. My doctor says I should be eating through a straw, so I claim the title of being the luckiest unlucky person in the world. The outrageous part is that a drunk driver hit me head on after fleeing the scene of another wreck he caused. His wife met him at the scene of the first wreck with her kids, let him leave with them while she waited at the first accident. He then hit me. His 1-year-old ended up losing an eye from the wreck. And he walked away without a scratch. He did get a ten year suspended sentence.
