I'm on the board of the Clarion West writers workshop and write speculative fiction. I used to review mysteries for January Magazine, and occasionally review now for them, and for other publications. I'm a member of the National Book Critics Circle and review manuscripts for the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest.
I agree, the Nero Wolfe tv series was really well done. It wigged me out a little that the actors played a rotation of characters, but I got used to it. I don't know if there are any Nero Wolfe conventions or fan clubs though! What is your writing about?
Lots of great Seattle crime writers, fiction and non-fiction. First, I recommend you pay a visit to Seattle Mystery Bookshop, in Pioneer Square. One of my favorite indie bookstores. Then I suggest you seek out novels by J.A. Jance, Earl Emerson, Jon Talton, Gregg Olsen and Mary Daheim. That's just for starters.
