Karen Meek's Blog

Euro Crime

I run the Euro Crime website and associated blog. They cover
British and (other) European crime fiction. On the website there are
reviews and bibliographies and more recently monthly competitions to
win books and sometimes DVDs. The blog is more for pointers to new
books, award winners, new websites/blogs and also covers tv and film.

Good to meet you Karen. How were the final events? Am back in Oxfordshire trying to make sense of all my notes but need to get on with some picture research finalising before I write them up. I will look into putting a link on the europolar website to your site which I hope will increase the hit rate. If you come to Oxford let me know and we can meet up.

Hi Karen, lovely to meet you finally, albeit briefly. Am now back in Tewkesbury, trying to build an ark.

I did not read Michael Dibdin, but I have friends who do. We were all shocked and upset by his death. Thanks for the heads up on the contest. I recently watched the Irish R.M. and I just love Bryan Murray.

Thank you for your lovely comment. I'm so pleased that you're finding it useful.

I'd been on J McGown's mailing list and she'd been in and out of hospital so it wasn't a complete surprise but nonetheless very upsetting. Michael Didbdin's death was completely out of the blue and very sad too.

Have you entered the DVD competion on the blog/website as it's a Irish crime drama, only open to USA residents :-) ?

Hi Karen,

I just wanted to say thanks for your blog. It has been a great source of info for an anglophile like me. I found it earlier this month in Library Journal. I caught the first installment of Ian Rankin's serial because of your blog. On a much sadder note, I just found out that Jill McGown has passed away. She was one of my favs! Val's obit was perfect.
