There are some great crime writers from NZ around who deserve a lot more attention than they sometimes get.

http://www.austcrimefiction.org/index.php/Thomas%2C_Paul - not necessarily set in NZ, Paul Thomas has written a number of books. He now lives in Sydney Australia.
