SURVIVOR IN DEATH (Police Proc-New York–2059) – G+
Robb, J.D. (Nora Roberts) – 20th in series
Putnam, 2005 – Hardcover
When Lt. Eve Dallas is called out to a crime scene, she finds a husband and wife, their live-in housekeeper, son and the friend of their daughter who had been coldly murdered. However, she also finds the young daughter, who had been overlooked by the killers. Eve takes the young girl into protective custody into her own whom while tracking down the who and why of the killings.
As I've mentioned before, this is a series that should be read in order. But for fans who have read the previous books, this is another fine addition to the series. I didn't feel it was quite as strong as some of the others. It didn't have the same element of humor, nor was the motive for the killings as clear. But Robb never really disappoints and this was another enjoyable, straight-through read.
