The last two books I have tackled have weighed in at over 500 pages. The last one Sun and Shadow by Ake Edwardson I reviewed on Crimescraps. I now have about 150 pages to go of Jed Rubenfeld's Freudian melodrama The Interpretation of Murder, and I think at this point my review will be much more complimentary.

I sometimes wonder if authors are paid by the page?

Thanks to all those who have picked me as a friend. I just wish I was not so busy and could spend more time schmoozing.

I have both Patience of the Spider and the second in the De Luca trilogy, That Damned Season on order. At least I have proved to myself that I can keep going on these blockbusters, I was starting to think I could only mangage Sciascia, Lucarelli and Camilleri length novels.

Go for a nice brief Lucarelli next Uriah. And Patience of the Spider is due out next month, bet you are looking forward to that. I do like a nice 200 pager sometimes, rather than being daunted by a doorstop!

*sigh* Sometimes those characters just won't shut up....What's a mother to do?

I read about half of THE HISTORIAN last year. Absolutely loved the story and the author's voice but just plain got worn out at about page 500, with another 400 to go.
