According to reports in the British press yesterday Hollywood legend Mickey Rooney is seeking a part in a forthcoming episode of Midsomer Murders.

The 86 year old star is due to make his debut in Pantomime, a British theatrical tradition incomprehensible to most people outside these shores, later this year and claims to be a big fan of the show.

In the spirit of cultural exchange I’d like to suggest a couple of British celebrities who could make an impact in Hollywood, namely our own dear Posh and Becks. Their frantic mugging for the cameras since arriving in LA suggests they are begging Mr De Mille for their close up.

Perhaps they could be signed to star in a remake of the Thin Man movies of the forties; this time round renamed The Strangely Thin Woman in honour of the fragrant Mrs Beckham.
