Journal entry, day 17: " It's been hard, these last few weeks. I have to project an image that is totally false, and I have to be convincing. I'm not doing well, so it isn't hard to seem nervous, but I must be careful not to overdo it and pretend too much.

My nervousness isn't what people think at all. She was going to leave me, so I killed her. I buried her body eight feet down in my garden and covered it with two feet of soil. Then I killed a stray dog, laid it in the hole, and filled in the rest.

The police were suspicious when I told them my wife had left me, and of course they investigated the yard. They dug up the spot that had been disturbed, but when they found the dog, they stopped digging.

Now I just have to make believe that I'm really sad she's gone. It's the greatest job of acting I've ever done, pretending she's not still around."

I'm glad to hear it wasn't a "How To..." session!
I'd love to hear your version on a "Golden Oldies Mystery."

That's so weird.. When i was asked off the top of my head at Harrogate to say how i'd conceal a body, that's what i said.... It was for a questionnaire btw.
