If you like private eye novels (and if you're a Hannibal Jones fan you must) you'll dig Norman Green's first PI book, "THE LAST GIG."

This is New York noir, as a Latina street kid working for a private eye goes after an Irish mobster, after somebody hijacks one of his trucks which, incidentally was hauling drugs. The strongest thing about this book is Alessandra, a wonderful female protagonist. Of course NYC is a great setting for a PI story. And I’m a sucker for a story with lots of good subplots. This one has as many layers as any of my Hannibal Jones corkscrew stories. This one's worth checking out.
