Somehow they just don't seem real. I got word this morning that my e-book, GO HOME AND DIE, has indeed become a published work. But where is the box of books I can unpack and admire?

My brain tells me that an e-book is real. Acquaintances tell me they love them. My publisher tells me it will soon be available on amazon. You can't get more real than that, right?

So I must believe it. To help with that, I'm giving away gift certificates for GO HOME AND DIE. Comment on this blog, and I'll enter your name in a drawing on April 5. The winner gets a PayPal gift certificate to purchase this Vietnam-era mystery. http://redrosepublishing.com/bookstore/product_info.php?products_id...

I agree about the cover art, some of the ebook pubs have the most breathtaking art I've seen. There are also a lot of print books that have crappy covers too so just because it's an ebook doesn't mean the cover art's gonna be lacking. It depends on who the publisher is and the effort that's put into the work.

Peg, I sent you a friend invite with my email address. I'd love it if you wanted to namedrop some epublishing editors or contacts for me!

Best Wishes!

I don't think there's any danger of books going away. At a recent conference there was all sorts of talk about bundles, where you get the ebook and the "real" book. Just too many people who like picking through the choices in a bookstore. As far as cover art goes, ebooks get that. No new book smell, though!

Thanks, Stacy. If you want some names, I just came from the EPICon and met some editors in e-publishing...let me know!

They are definitely real, baby! I am a big ebook reader. I've also been traditionally published (uck) and now I am looking into epublishing and very excited about it! I see way more advantages with epublishing and anyone who thinks ebooks aren't real, screw 'em! There are many that love ebooks. The ones that don't it's their loss.

What matters is if your book is real to you. It's still a book!

Good luck, my epublished friend. I'll definitely check it out because I am addicted to ebooks like crack, LOL!

Best Wishes!
