I'll be presenting prizes to the winners of the Crime & Intrigue Short Story Competition in June

On Monday 20 June I will be presenting prizes to the winners of the Crime & Intrigue Short Story Competition on the Isle of Wight, organised by the Wight Fair Writers' Circle.

I'll also be signing copies of my DI Andy Horton crime novels and my thrillers, alongside crime writing team Bob and Carol Bridgestock. In addition, the local police will be there and setting up a crime scene in Newport Minster, where the event is being held. It promises to be great fun. The High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight, Suzie Sheldon, will also be present. All proceeds from the competition are going to charity, the Love Russia Charity and the Isle of Wight Homeless Charities. And the ladies from the church are providing tea, coffee and cakes with the money they raise going to the Minster funds. So it's all in a good cause.

The competition is now closed and the judging has begun, but this time, unlike the CWA Young Crime Writers Competition, I am not involved in the judging.  I am sure it will be a tough decision for the judges.

The Wight Fair Writers Circle currently consists of around 14 people from all different walks of life and writing different genres. There is more on their web site including details about their competitions. Hope to post some photographs from the event here shortly after 20 June.
