Looking for something dark that is going to crawl into that brain pan of yours. I wasn’t to be honest with you, but I have read everything Jason McIntyre has written to date and I was not going to let anything stop me from reading this. The novel just came out on Amazon Kindle priced at $2.99, a bargain for what I feel I got of this. Oh yeah, before I forget, Jason will be stepping into The GZONE, the Gelati’s Scoop blogtalk radio show, on Feb 28th at 11amEST. If you are like me; you will have plenty of questions for this guy. I am going to join his group over at The Novel Spot called The Minds of McIntyre, pretty cool name and right on the mark. Other titles by Mr. McIntyre are Road Markers, On the Gathering Storm, Shed, and The Night Walk Men. Let me stop yapping for a minute and let’s get to what is between the virtual covers, shall we:

“Sebastion Redfield is being hunted.

A young man on the brink of true adulthood, Redfield experiences the trauma of his life when a trespasser breaks into his home. The psychiatrist assigned to help him recover from the break-in begins to unravel a more disturbing truth about his ordeal: that someone or something has been hunting him.

Touted as “Jason McIntyre’s most complex, multi-layered, and disturbing work,” THALO BLUE delves into the life and times of Sebastion who, through his unique condition, may be the only person alive able to stop the mysterious "thief". This figure is unstoppable, even by death it seems, and he wants something that only Sebastion possesses. An explosive confrontation in his home during the middle of a brutal winter begins their terrifying encounter, one that will eventually stretch across a city, a township and a country.

Recovery is Sebastion’s next phase of life—and not just physical recovery but an emotional healing from a life of family drama and the burden of being ‘gifted’. Sebastion and the psychiatrist assigned to help him deal with the break-in quickly realize that the ordeal is not over. Now, to save his own life, he and the therapist must dredge up his dark, painful past for clues as to who or what the terrifying thief may be.

Part literary noir, part mystery, and part horror, THALO BLUE is sure to paralyze readers and keep them gnawing at their nails at each startling revelation.”

Serious stuff indeed! I am going to say this, enter at your own mental risk. McIntyre is quickly becoming one of my favorite go to authors. The quality of the work he produces is always first rate and the tone he sets in the novel is, for me, very moving. The emotion he is able to pull out of me as I follow the story and the characters blows my mind. Thalo Blue is your basic 159,000 word $%# kicking novel. Following Sebastion’s story, his course, what lies ahead for him, waiting to have that bomb laid down makes for one virtual page turning frenzy. Separating myself from the Kindle while I read this was not easy. I still have the images in my head that Jason McIntyre burned into my brain.

I have followed the progression of this author from digital short stories, to stories with a little larger word count to this monster of a novel. Twist, turns, concise plotlines and a dynamic voice and vision are quickly becoming his hallmark. He strikes me as a hungry, driven author that needs, no I should say deserves after reading this, a larger audience. Are you listening? Download this monster of a novel and be prepared for what you are about to read!
