A while back here on CrimeSpace, I wrote about having trouble placing a piece of "crime flash non-fiction." It just didn't fit into any of the e-zines out there. Too crime-y for the flash non-fiction journals. Too real for the crime flash fiction 'zines. Too short for the crime 'zines that did publish non-fiction.
There seemed to be a gap in the flash universe.
Enter "Fingerprints," a new e-zine publishing "crime flash non-fiction."
Submissions are open now, and I hope to find some great ones from CrimeSpace members. I posted my forlorn piece, "Stomach > Brains," to get things rolling, and to show what crime flash non-fiction is all about.
Submissions work like any flash fiction 'zine. E-mail a story, the editor looks it over and posts it. Sorry to say "Fingerprints" isn't a paying 'zine, at least not now. If it gets big enough, we'll see.
Click here to go to "Fingerprints."
P.S. If you can't submit, please help get the word out about it. It could turn into something really cool. I'm not in this for the money, only for the enjoyment of flash-style writing.
