My pirate-detective novel is in pre-preduction stages.

Just heard from the publisher my novel, Ffolkes' Medicine is gearing up to go into the pre-preduction stages. From what it sounds like, it should see the light of day say somewhere around. . . oh . . . Spring of 2050?

Maybe sooner.

But it's a different kind of detective novel. A loud mouth pirate living in Port Royal, Jamaica in the 17th Century. The perfect place to find a dead body or two lying around on a daily basis since it was the pirate haven of the Caribbean at that time.

And the character's personality? Think of Cyrano de Bergerac meets Sherlock Holmes.

And yeah! I'm hyped!

A new sub-genre? Naw, I'd say it falls into the category of historical-detective.

A whole new sub-genre. Way to go, BR.

Actually Jon, I think if Geoffery Armitage Ffolkes was alive--you and he would become instant drinking buddies. Both of you share a lot of distinctive personality traits. And the funny thing is, I wrote this two years before I ever found Crimespace and met you.

And John F.--yeah, don't worry about me keeping everyone posted. I'm feeling like a new daddy handing out bubblegum cigars to all my buddies right now.
