The first review of THE CONVICT'S SWORD

Well, it's a reviewlet, but very welcome. This one is by Christopher Gortner, a fellow author, and appears on the DAILY BEAST. We are still a month and a half from release, so I assume the ARCs are beginning to reach people.

The link is http://bit.ly/q3FpZ.

I like some of the phrases: "brutality-beneath-the-silk" and "This historical reads like a modern thriller." I wonder if I shocked Mr. Gortner. :)

Sorry to get back late with thanks to all. My computer crashed Saturday and I'm still trying to work kinks out of the new one. Sigh!
This seems to be my year for great expenses and no income.
Yes, the DAILY BEAST was "news" to me also, but I really like what I see (except it doesn't let me post!).

Congratulations, IJ. Great review and the cover is very unique. Wishing you great success.

I don't know, IJ--I kind of like the part where they talk about "Parker’s keen wit and ability to immerse us in the dazzlingly unfamiliar." Congratulations--very nice indeed, and bound to sell some books. Or ebooks, maybe.

Your cover stood out, too, IMHO.

This is BIG BIG, IJ. Tens of thousands of hits per day.

The Daily Beast is Tina Brown's effort to change the news business.

Champagne?

Thanks. I'm not familiar with the DAILY BEAST and was a bit puzzled, but my editor says it's "huge." Who knew?

I hope this one sends up to that first-tier of detective authors we've all striving to achieve. By the way, I'm reading 'Island of Exiles' and enjoying it.
