THE MASUDA AFFAIR Listed as Best of 2010

LIBRARY JOURNAL has just listed its "best genre novels of 2010". Happily, my book is among them, one of the five mysteries honored.

Lovely!

Ah, J.D. is back after a long absence. I missed you. Are you still rambling around East Asia?

Thanks for the congrats. The cover art is acceptable, though I'm pissed off that they rejected my designs. Never mind. I have e-rights, and I'll use them for Kindle! Hah!

The publisher will turn out to be a temporary fix, I'm afraid.

Congrats, and I must say that is some wicked good cover art. I stumbled upon this the other day actually on Amazon when I was browsing around. Glad you found another publisher. The cover for the one after this one looks good too. Best of luck to you.

Thanks, Dana. I think. :) I don't recall the exchange. I've managed to lose enough publishers not to have faith in breaks any longer. They always dump me when the good rviews come out.
Let me say that I'm hugely grateful to the folks at LJ, but I don't think it will change anything. I've never had any promotion from my publishers and just don't have the sales to make the series viable.
The fact that a select few people think it good is immensely soothing to my ego but will not make a difference.

Several months ago you had a reversal of frtune in your career, and I said you were due for some breaks that would turn things around completely. You were polite, but somewhat dismissive, as I guess most folks would be in similar circumstances.

I find myself now wholly vindicated in my opinion. Congratulations.

Thanks, Pepper. It's extraordinary. Historical mysteries don't get picked very often. Also, of course, my books aren't that widely read. You expect to find familiar names on those lists.
