I've never managed to finish a Jeffrey Deaver book - they just don't appeal. Confession two - I don't watch "big name" movies - we don't get a lot of movie time and I prefer to dabble in the indi / unusual / or Bollywood spectrum :) so I can't comment on the similarities. But, in this one Tony does eventually get active so he's not really directing from the pillow - more for a position of physical infirmity. If you know what I mean :)
