Thank you for the friend invitation. Yes I live in Bonnie Scotland, but I am not Scottish. However, it is a beautiful country, lots of open space, especially in the Highlands. Depsite the rumours, it isn't always raining. There's a couple of reasons to be going on with.
I have been to the USA once. We did a coach tour of California. I have a picture of me leaning over Arnie's signature in Los Angeles.

Hi..you asked how I found out about this site. I got a google alert on one of my authors, Norm Maher, and it turned out he was listed here! So, I signed up too. Still figuring things out, though.

Hi right back at ya! Been busy trying to work past a hurdle in the novel. Found out ViNoWriMo people picked a winner, but of course, it won't be announced until March 1st, so I'm going nutty till then! My story is great, if I do say so myself. I just hope they think so too! Wish me luck!
I just noticed you're from Salina KS. I spent a very pleasant afternoon in Salina with my daughter last July, on our way to visit family in Colorado. We eventually drove all the way to yellowstone and back, and I told her if I had to live in any of the tonws and cities we passed throuhg, I'd pick Salina. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there (ate dinner at Martinelli's, near the medical center), and it's about the size city I like: big enough to have some services, small enough to still feel like a town.
I was just teasing-- though I do admit getting enjoyment out of breaking the 'rules'. =)

LOL! If I actually had a professionally done author photo, that would probably be what I was using, but I don't. This one is actually years out of date, but I don't have anything recent that I would want to post.

Dear B.R., Thanks much. Yes, I know Robert Van Gulik's work very well. To some extent, his series inspired me in the 80s to write a Japanese series similar to his. The intention lasted only until my character, Akitada, took on a life of his own. There are probably still similarities, especially in the earlier books, but slowly these are disappearing.
