Hi, LJ,
I was amused by your mention on DL of the Slug Queen. I nearly wrote about "her" myself, but I wanted to put in about P DF following her in the parade sweeping up the slime, and it didn't seem kosher to expose our congressman to the wide world.

Hi there.
Sometimes I do think I overextend myself.
On a five hour round trip to give a talk for World Book Day yesterday I was seriously berating myself...

hi lynn!
Listen, just wanted to explain about the strange comments you might have noticed I got from STruggler!
He and I do this Double Indemnity thing. we're obsessed sometimes with the dialogue.
It's a scream and often breaks up a tiresome day of heavy writing!
Hi, No, I don't own the Taser. It's against the law for private citizens to won them in Wisconsin. I have been participating in a Citizen Police Academy in my city for the past 7 weeks. The Taser belongs to the local police dept.
I am so excited for you. I know how you can feel it in your bones and I can't wait to hear more. Please keep me up on all your good news. And if there is anything I can do for you, please let me know.
I love Oregon. I was born in Salem in 1935 but grew up in the Portland area.
My bio lists Dallas as a home town. I am going to get a picture of my Boston teriers soon in my profile--still learning. I am computer challeged. Glad that you responded and happy to have y ou as a friend.
Thanks so much for stopping by my page. Always great to meet a fellow author. And you live in a place I've always wanted to visit. Oregon is beautiful, I hear. I lived in AK for 10 years and had quite an adventure, but it got me hooked on the beauty of outdoors. Take care and happy writing! Wishing you much success in 2008.
There are a lot of really great writers in the Colorado Springs area, LJ. I can't 'splain it at all. Heck, there's a best selling author two blocks away from my house, and another just over the hill. It must be the water . . . or the mountains . . . er, something.
Anyway, if you like the mountains and great weather (he says as the wind is thrashing and blowing snow up against the back door). The weather is actually moderate, though subject to change quite often. Yesterday it was near 80, and today -- blizzard. It'll melt off by day after tomorrow, though.
I haven't tried Capital Crime Press yet. I'll check them out, thanks
L.JI., that is one provacative book cover and title. I hope it sells you a bunch! And on the comments about covers, they do make a difference to me. When I'm browsing or glancing at books, first reactions do count. Much as they do when meeting people. Obviously, you can change your mind once you get to know the individual. But with books, oftentimes, it's three seconds and you're in or out. Also, I'm a PNW writer, too. Seattle area.
L.J. - I love the cover and title! They do what they're supposed to do, right? I just think people can be a little uptight and can jump to conclusions way too easily, when what they need to do is read the book.
Thanks for the invite, by the way. Looking forward to reading your stuff. Since joining crimespace, my reading list has certainly grown!
I think the moderators of some threads have a lot to do with how things are viewed and said. Plus what is controversial to one is not to another. I look forward to reading your book :)
It's been interesting. Most of the authors on this site have been very positive about my cover and title. However, many of the mystery readers on a discussion list I belong to have been put off by it. I'm not sure if it's generational or if writers are just inherently more liberal, attracted to controversy, or whatever.
