I must be doing something right? Hmmmm. Not according to Bank of America (aka The Evil Empire -- ooops, that title already belongs to Capitol One) where my bank account looks like an unsecured loan. I do, however, have a new book coming out October 7th, 2008, and a contract for another. Now, if I could just make a living!
Hi L.J. Thanks for the comment and sorry for not replying sooner - I've been away on honeymoon the past few weeks.
Good title by the way!
Best wishes
Chris
L.J.: saw your comment on Jon's page about the MEO. Be careful what you wish for! The autopsy I saw up close and personal (a remodeling project in the main autopsy room forced us to work squeezed together in a tiny room) was among the worst, most gorey the ME ever did - total butchery - and OMG - the sounds.... the very bad sounds... and of course the puke-inducing smells.
Yuck!
Let me know how you make out if they let you witness an autopsy.
Thanks and same to you. I keep hearing about your book all over the place. It's on my list of books to pick up and read when I get a bit further down the current pile.
Hi, L.J.
Neither my agent nor I have given up on the series. I'm just going in a different direction to give her something else to shop around. You never know...the new manuscript might end up selling the earlier ones. ;-)
I like Five Star. My contact there has been very helpful and supportive. I'm hoping bookstores will find them as helpful when it comes to ordering since they basically focus on libraries and not the retail market.
I liked your post about Jack, and names ending in K, by the way. One of my first characters in a short story years ago was called Suck Findlay...
Hello LJ,
Thanks for the invite. Question for the editor in you, 2 of my characters go by their initials. May I drop the periods after each one? I know it is not the way it is taught in school but the FBI, CIA, etc. get away with it.
Thanks, Maggie, Perfect for Framing out Fall of 2008
That's a good point L.J. Thankfully, I tend to not obsess about my past indescretions or prior relationships - but rather about injustice and murder and death... all the madening things I cannot control. Great for writing - not so great for mental health...
Thanks for the welcome. I am always open for good authors' names, I am reading faster than they write, at least the ones I know, and can get from the library

Congrats on your success. If you get a look at mine I'd be interested in your editor's thoughts. Sharper editorial machete needed?
Best;
Brian
