Thanks for the invite, you deliciously Evil columnist, you! ;)
Love the movies on your list, btw--The Sting is an all-time fav (I never tire of a movie with Eileen Brennan in it, never mind Redford and Newman). Ever see The Cheap Detective?
Hi Eric! Sorry for the late reply-computer woes, you know? I sold English and Continental furniture and 'small's. She wanted you to help her commit a crime?? At her age, she should have known better! :) Glad you set her straight...she obviously didn't get the theme of your book. :)
What kind of antiques did you sell? I recently gave a talk at a library about the new book- Grave Imports. Afterwards an elderly women came up and told me that she thought I ought to lead tour groups to Cambodia and that then I could show people where to buy antiques and how to get them out of the country and into the U.S. I was very polite in explaining that the point of the book was that this was a bad, not a good thing, and that of course I wasn't going to help her smuggle looted antiquities. Sheesh.
Years ago, Penny - on TV - and have seen it a few times since. Another great one was The Red Balloon - ever see that one? And then there was The King of Hearts with Alan Bates! Ah, they don't make movies like those anymore, huh? :)
Ahhhh, I suppose not all that many folks have seen the Red Shoes. Too bad for those who haven't. Maybe it was thought to be too artsy. How did you happen to see it?
Hello Mary!
Great to see you here as well! And thanks so much for the kind words about On The Bubble. It was a hard decision to make - it was loads of fun - but there are just so many hours in the day, right? I've had offers to keep it alive, so - maybe later in the year. First thing now is to take care of having another book ready by fall - and to give attention to a few mystery related volunteer committees...
Hi, Elaine - good to see you here. I'm also popping around to try to figure things out. I was sorry to see On The Bubble on hiatus, but totally understand. There just isn't enough time to do everything. Yet, here I am, having fun when I should be working. :) Hey, a girl has to take a break every now and then, right? :)
Oh my God, why did that show up on your chatterpage THREE TIMES??? All I can say is we're on vacation now up in Mammoth Mountain, and this computer in our room acted like it wasn't going to send you my chatter. I must've hit it a couple more times before giving up.
Me? A wild broad??? Oh gosh, Elaine, I don't know WHERE Paul gets that from! Cause I am about as straight-laced as... that is, I am the most conserva... I mean, they don't come any tamer than...
Okay, yeah, I guess I'm a little wild. I blame birth order for that. I am the 7th of 11 - being, how shall we say "vivacious?" was the only way someone buried in the middle of all those kids could get any attention... or a hot meal!
