For me, writing about the things I cannot control helps me process the fear, frustration, and anguish, and therefore, helps keep me sane. (or so I like to think)
Good wishes for your writing endeavors.
Hi Harding
As long as you're obsessive about writing (and not, say, your ex-girlfriend), then all those other characteristics may make you a better crime writer.

Thanks for the kind words on 'Justice For All' Harding. It's available as a pre-order on bookstore.co.uk (and Amazon.co.uk, etc), but it's not released in the UK until August 08. It is however currently out in Australia and New Zealand, and you can order it at via this link:
LOL - thanks for the comment - I knew you would come back with that :o) Too Late For Tears is a great film, and one which should be far better known. Wouldn't it have been great to see Lizabeth Scott's Jane Palmer and Ann Savage's Vera trying to out-evil each other :o)
Thanks for the invite, Harding! You're a man after my own heart. I'll be at Noircity in SF at the end of the month, and alas--no Out of the Past this year. But the Film Noir Foundation restored The Prowler--and if you haven't seen it already ... I think you'd like it. ;)
Thanks very much for the invite. I was just re-watching "Out of the Past" the other night. And listening to your tune as I type, I'm driven to dig out the Julee Cruise discs.
You're so cool Mr. Rick. my life is just a tune played on a tinny piano, but you make it classical. Here's looking at you, Bogey! Have a great new Year. I'll have Sam play you a song. He played it for me.
If you get another cat you can name it Falcon. My book, The Beatitudes, is a paranormal thriller set in New Orleans. It will be out in the fall and I am donating all royalties directly to the New Orleans Public Library Foundation. Libraries support the infrastructure of a great city, so I have started The Beatitudes Network to promote awareness of the importance of public libraries in NOLA.
The blogsite www.beatitudesinneworleans.blogspot.com describes the Network, has excerpts from The Beatitudes, recipes, and more. Merci mille fois. Lyn Lejeune.
Writers, please pass the word…..it’s for a good cause….don’t let the libraries of New Orleans or the US go the way of The Great Library of Alexandria.

If you ever get a chance to read it I'd love to know what you think.
Cheers,
Steve
