Hi Sandra - when did you get older than me? I am impressed. I was sure you were much, much younger. I am with you on MySpace. In fact, my kids have forbidden me to join. Almost enough to make me just to spite them - but not quite. More than enough opportunities to embarrass them in real life.
Thanks for picking me to be a friend, Sandra. Repeating what I said on my own page -- now I don't feel like I used to when I was the kid on the playground who was always the last one picked to be on a team.
Oh, ex-husbands. Yikes. For me, I've had no contact with my dad in over 11 years, with my mom it was 8. And wouldn't you know it, the family's come out of the woodwork now. Still have no contact with my dad, but I do have contact with my mother.

That does sound surreal. And isn't it funny about that whole "careful what you wish for" thing? Then to find out you don't necessarily know what to do with it! Thanks for the heads-up. I'm still vaguely astonished that I sold my first story--and that was back in 2001!
I'm wondering which of my two ex-husbands will email first. Then I think---ewww--what if one shows up at a bookstore and I don't recognize him?!
For me, I felt like I moved from one surreal experience to another. It never dawned on me that when I was at LCC readers would come up and want to talk to me about the book and actually know about the story! I'm so used to the DL mentality, you don't talk too much about your own work, that I was really surprised. And not prepared.
Does it feel fun? Sometimes. Nothing's better than having someone say they read your book and loved it. I'm really shy about the compliments, though, so I had a really hard time knowing what to say to people when it happened in person. Definitely something to think about before your book comes out!
And then people you knew from years ago start emailing you out of the blue... It's very weird sometimes. But mostly good.

I'm proud to be officially declared a FOE.
Angie, it's the drinking blood thing that makes all the difference.
But thanks. It's always nice to look younger.
I do not believe your profile. You are Not even close to 105. You don't look a day over 89.

We look awfully perky and pleasant for a noir connection!
