Shane, I won't be at the convention in Houston, which is bumming me out. What a fabulous spectacle it would be, just to see all those people! I'm hoping to check it out live someday. RT has been very kind to me.

xxx from your new arch-friend, C

Hi, Cornelia. Congrats on the Edgar nomination--what a thrill! (No pun intended!)

You know, I told my husband when I married him that our life together would never be dull. We remind ourselves of that all the time.

I asked my daughter to translate your family motto into Latin: "numquam punctum aridum est." Maybe it doesn't quite roll off the tongue....

Thanks for the friendship!

I see you have a website that sells Corneliares. I'd like to purchase three. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, that's because I am a total dork and when I see your website I see this: www.corneliare-ad.com

Thank you Shane, you are very nice to wish me luck. At the moment, I'm just focusing on the idea that it's nicer to be a nominee than to find out I lost, as that's the only way I don't obsess about it.

I'll wish us BOTH luck in the Romantic Times bout... wanna be friendly arch-nemeses, and insist it has to be one of us who wins it instead of those other three pikers? That's my deal with Steve Hockensmith about the Edgars this year.

It has been called both "a venomously witty portrait of a fallen WASP" and "absolute bollocks," though not by the same publication."

Hi, Cornelia--It's even better when they say it in the same review. (Been there, done that!) Great good luck on winning Best Debut honors with MWA. I'm in the same position with Romantic Times. It's hell waiting, isn't it?
